Age of Empires 4 shows off naval battles, camel riders

Two new trailers have arrived for Age of Empires 4, one showing a glimpse of the Abbasid Dynasty civilization (based on the Abbasid Caliphate and Mamluk Sultanate, rulers of the Islamic world for 750 years), their camel riders and the House of Wisdom, and the other showing naval combat. The game doesn't have much to say about how to play, except that it looks like a game you can run on a laptop.

That's not a bad thing, and buildings look much more detailed than the scaleless units around them. It's not the end of the world for individual models to look simple, given that you often zoom out to an absurd degree in an RTS. "Beautiful 2010 graphics", "2006 graphics why?" You can't know this from the comment sections that have competed over the years with comparisons like these. and finally "AoE 3, released in 2005, had naval battles that looked better than this".

Age of Empire 4 will begin with eight asymmetrical civilizations. In addition to the Abbasid Dynasty, you'll be able to play as the Chinese, British, French, Mongolian, Russian, Delhi Sultanate, and Holy Roman Empire. There are four historical campaigns (The Rise of Moscow, the Mongol Empire, the Norman Campaign, and the 100 Years' War), and it looks like the 3D terrain will give advantages to units on high ground. Also, archers can now stand on walls, which is nice.
