Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5 are rolling out on Amazon Prime

Battlefield 1 (2016) and Battlefield 5 (2018—don't ask me about their numbering system) are both excellent games. Let's face it, we all know that Battlefield multiplayer COD crashes into a hat, then washes the roof with delightful crumbling debris as a plane screams overhead.

If you haven't played them, both standard editions of Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 1 become available from August 2 until August 4, while now claiming them are available for free away with Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5 will be yours permanently, and you will be given an Origin code.

Battlefield 1 took us back to WW1 and told a series of more focused, cinematic single-player stories. One of the best campaigns the series has ever had, thanks to its epic scale and some incredible set pieces.

Battlefield 5 would actually be my choice between the two because I love these games for their multiplayer chaos. The two make a nice duo as Battlefield 5's WWII setting is a thematic continuation of what the studio achieved with Battlefield 1. If nothing else, DICE consistently makes fantastic looking and extremely entertaining battle sandboxes and for free. You really can't go wrong.

These freebies precede the launch of this year's edition of the series, Battlefield 2042. DICE, set in the near future, is bringing 128-player maps to the series and hopefully double the chaos. While it won't feature a single-player campaign, it will at least let you summon a robot dog.
